If I could, I would emboss the Centaur of Approval on all four of the following awesome sites, which I have just recently started reading: Bubblegumfink, Blue Tea, Vintage Ads & See Here. Searching for interesting/offbeat posts for the August Metafilter contest really helped me find a bunch of new/interesting blogs, which was a great side benefit.
There is a Metafilter contest? How does that work? I’m scared to ask what the prize is.
It was for “best post of the day”, and Matt chose the winner (along with the co-admin, Jessamyn). Matt (from his own pocket) gave $30 to the winner each day. I won twice, and placed Runner Up six other times. I told Matt to donate the $ to charity as I don’t really need the $60. But oddly enough, I did seem to physically need to win. Like, I started to get panicky near the end of the month when someone else (of the 40,000 members) had won two times and I’d only won once. Fortunately I won a second time on August 28th.
