Giada De Laurentiis Loves History, Is Stupid

August 17, 2007

Transcript: The famous lions represent the battle of Trafalgar Square. This was a win for the British in 1805 against the French. Giada loves history, just so you know.

Now, I don’t blame any of you reading this who don’t know that it’s actually called The Battle of Trafalgar, and that it took place in the Ocean, not in a public square, and that square is actually just where the monument to the Battle is located. But that’s because none of you have nationally televised shows, and a staff of people to keep you from saying stupid things, and then capping off your stupidity by touting how much you love history.  Unless of course, one of you reading this is Giada De Laurentiis, in which case, I do blame one of you.

Sorry for the poor quality on the video, I just cam’d it from the TV. Maybe Giada’s not to blame; after all, this IS some other country we’re talking about. It’s not like she claimed she was visiting GettysburgAddress, Pennsylvania, or that our first President’s name was George WashingtonMonument.

  1. I’d dump some blame on the editing staff too. Since it was a voice over portion, it would have been very easy to mute the “Square” portion, and have her appear to say it correctly.

  2. I totally agree; anyone can make a mistake – and I’m sure in her heart she doesn’t think it was called the Battle of Trafalgar Square. It’s more amusing that 1) it made it on air, and 2) she follows it up by winking at the camera and touting her love of history.

  3. uhh, in case you didn’t notice, she is hot. No one really cares if she can even speak. Pretty girl showing pretty places. Works for cable. This show will never be a “Wild On” clearly the best travel show ever.

BTW, High School Musical 2 was the highest rated TV show on cable ever, or something crazy like that.

  4. I agree with JK…I don’t care what Giada says or does.

    Giada says “Giada loves history.”

    Chris hears “Giada loves cock.”

Don’t get me started on Giada eating asparagus.

  5. Chris, have a fetish about women whose pee smells funny?

In an amusing bit of poor audience awareness, the original title of this post was “Giada De Laurentiis is hot, stupid” but I changed it because I thought it might sound sexist.

  6. You worry about sounding misogynistic by calling Giada hot and stupid (heh-like those aren’t mutually exclusive?) but say an old lady was fucked to death by a camel?

I quit self-censoring myself (online at least)years ago…other than editing one blog post that I did a couple of years ago when I was really smashed.
